All in all, you seem to misunderstand your place in the scheme of things. Your role is to provide Microsoft with money -- and a stable platform doesn't do that unless you sign up for SA:

I refuse to get SA for software that is released at a snails pace. SA is what Ballmer is talking about though, how can he market a product that has a release date where SA costs more than purchasing the software again.

No new sales, no SA revenue. Doesn't sound like stability is a good thing for MS, does it? So Steve is going to do what the stockholders want: crank up the pressure so that the cattle (that's you, Bucky) start supporting the ranch again.
