The MS death wish ...
Mr. Balmer truly epitomizes much of what is wrong with Microsoft. Their never satiated desire to expand into new markets is rooted far more deeply in a desire to extend their level of control and their existing monopoly than it is for the sake of providing a new competing product. This company is and always has been about control, and that will eventually be their downfall. Every such entity eventually reaches a point where they overreach and stretch themselves to the point of disaster in seeking to satisfy their ever growing level of greed. That was the MO of Mr. Gates and now the mantel has been passed to Mr. Balmer. There could be no more faithful an heir to carry on the classic Microsoft tradition. But its not going to work forever. At some point the Microsoft era will come to an end.
