That makes no scence
People have been skipping updates for years. Doing more releases will just be throwing money away. In fact, if they were still giving the choice of win2k pro poeple would still buy it in preference to XP let alone vista. As for office a lot of people stopped at 98 and when they have been upgrading, they choose to cross grad to open office rather than accept being forced to upgrade to the latest version ms office.
