Theproblem stems from determining what
that value is ultimately. Patents were intended to protect your creative ability until you had enough time to gain from that Idea. Ultimately to get a jump start on the competition. Maintaining Intellectual rights into infinity is preposterous. Patenting for a projected monetary value regardless of time would insure the holder gets the fruit of their labor 5 minutes or 500 years from now. BUT! the world won't be held at (figuratively of course)gunpoint to get it after the creator passes the maximum compensation threshold.
