- Promote Your Monopoly
-
All the proponents of DRM will be the first ones crying in their beer if free software and free use of purchased media is ever crushed by monopolies such as Microsoft and Apple. They may be able to purchase everything required by the robber barons now, but the rest of the world isn't. They don't care if the rest of the world is being treated unfairly. Hey, they're doing ok. No problems. Screw the rest of the world. Let the dummies take care of themselves.
Too bad for them if they ever fall out of the clouds and have to live amongst "people".
They don't seem to have the capacity to understand that it's all about preventing the use of legally purchased media, it's NOT about allowing the use of legally purchased media.
The whole scenario would not be so objectional if the true authors of the media were benefitting from it, but I challenge anyone to prove that they are getting as much as one half of one per-cent of all funds collected from DRM'd content.
I do not subscribe to the present generally accepted business model that if you can screw people out of money and not get put in jail.......Hey, that's just business.
We once had laws against monopolies, but since our government has been up for sale to the highest bidders, our laws have all but disappeared, or at least unenforced. - Posted by: Ole Man Posted on: 07/27/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
