Nope, Linus said he wants nothing to do
with the GPL ver. 3 and would keep Linux under the current version.


The Linux kernel contains the work of thousands of developers all licensed under GPLV2, without the "or later version" modifier. Without either tracking down every contributor and getting a GPLV3 license from them or rewriting the GPLV2 parts out, it just ain't gonna happen because Linus doesn't hold all the copyrights.
