Stallman's mistake
is that he somehow thinks the world wants everything to be open. That's not the case. Most people who believe in his free source movement believe that software should be open, but data should not be. I certainly don't want people looking at MY data unless I get to set the terms. And copyrighted works like movies and songs are data, not software.

I believe that the user should have the choice as to whether or not DRM is used in his software. And I think the GPL should protect that user's choice, in other words, allow the user to take DRM out of their software if they choose. They should also be allowed to take it out of their data, but only if is THEIR data. If someone else has ownership, then that person should decide. We still have the right to not use that other person's data if we do not agree to the terms, but we should have the right to accept those terms if we do agree to them.
