Apple IS going to update Jaguar!
ZD Net and CNET both climbed all over a story
from @Stake with some rep from @Stake
claiming that he didn't think Apple would do
the bug fix. Apple is not like that other giant OS
manufacturer. Apple fixes things like that
before 20 viruses hit. The vulnerabilities are
pretty minor and can only be exploited from the
machine. That's not to say that vulnerabilites
shouldn't be fixed. I'm sure if somebody mass
mailed an email with the Apple logo like the
ones I get every day with the fake Microsoft
email with Microsoft logo that comes with an
attachment which is supposed to be a security
update, but which is actually a virus, some
Mac user might install the virus which could
exploit vulnerabilities in the permissions. I'm a
Mac user and no big Microsoft fan, but I'm
insulted by that stupid fake Microsoft email
that I get every day or two with the virus. I hope
Microsoft catches and burns those people.

The point is that Apple has announced an
update for Jaguar and ZD Net and CNet
shouldn't have claimed Apple had no plans to
update Jaguar before the Official Apple
Statement which came out yesterday that said
Apple plans to update Jaguar. Apple will
continue to support OSX. If a similar problem
occured in OS9, it's possible Apple would not
support it since they don't even support the
Apple music store for OS9.
