Feb 17 2000 to July 18 2000 is not 1 1/2 years
"Six years ago, Windows 2000 had already been out for a year and a half. ... The public received the full version of Windows 2000 on February 17, 2000."

Mind checking your math? 6 years ago, Windows 2000 had been out for 5 months. Not a year and a half.

6 years ago, Xp was not "about to come out", it was 15 months away.

The original poster said Vista's been in beta testing for 6 years. He didn't say "when it comes out, it'll have been in beta testing 6 years". That's different. Still false though--Original Longhorn started in late 2002, Vista will be released in early 2007 -- that's 4 1/2 years tops.

Plus, the first beta of Vista was released in July 2005. All previous versions were alphas or developer previews.
