Personally, I'd certainly hope it was better than what came before. Just like I'd hope the next version of OSX/Linux/Whatever was better than the last.

Translation, what you said was largely redundant, and little better than the panting of a fanboy, or maketing.

Also, I think you will find that the majority of Vista's competition will come from earlier versions of Windows.
