All well and good, but I foresee the license management issues becoming nightmarish. How, pray tell, do you defend yourself when the BSA comes knocking?

Where are the invoices, complete with serial numbers, for each instance of a VM which currently exists only as a ]disk file on an NAS box? Are you in violation if you have too many snapshots?

I've done just enough license management for small companies to never want to have to do it again. IMHO until this kind of problem is solved, companies would be wise to very strictly restrict their use of virtual hosts or make sure that all of their VMs are freely copyable (Linux, BSD, etc.)
