Just a money grab
I don't really get this really. The need for licensing is there but why charge for it? If I run a dozen apps installed in one server or I run 1 app per server in a dozen virutual servers on the same hardware, what's the difference?

You could split the hair pretty finely here. Is there really a differnece to hosting a service on one server running one OS or hosting on the same hardware in separate OSes. Seems to me they are the same thing but there are advantages to going one way or the other depending on your needs.

In the end this looks more like a money grab allowable by copyright law. Every time you want to copy the software to another location to get a virutal server you need license to copy though fair use may allow this but if the orginal server EULA over rules that by giving license to say 4 virtual servers then you your stuck. Want 5 pay for another copy of Windows. Sneaky if you ask me.
