I've been running a Windows network
for over 10 years and have yet to have an issue. A little thought goes a long way. Once you graduate high school, you might actually get some real experience and know that. Until then, try not running as Admin; solves about 99% of all those big bad Office problems you FUD about.
And when I can do half the automation in OO that I can easily do in Office, I'll look to switch over at work. Until then, why downgrade?
'Great companies'? a few Internet based businesses is the best you can mention? Learn to read a little more. They are good companies, no doubt, but I'm talking about the thousands of companies that finance your home, bring food to your supermarket, power to your home, put cloths on your back; that kind of thing. The ones that use Windows a lot.
