They have..
These games have been "brought back" so many times it is funny. Every decade someone is rolling out a new compilation of the classics. I do like the ones that hook into your TV. I just wish they would produce some of the more offbeat games.

Also, most of the Java ones, MAME, and other arcade emulators use the actual code from the original games. The only thing they emulate is the hardware. And many of the coders working on MAME are professionals.
