Some clarifications
"..the rules are clear and you know what they are. If you don't like them then don't trade here..."

You can't blame that on Bradley - he was quoting me.

"You would make a wonderful addition to the Chinese government ministry of trade! Google, MS, Yahoo, Dell, IBM,... : The rules are quite simple - you must give the government access to any and all information on our citizens, you must hand over your intellectual property to Chinese industry and you must build all your product here in China. Those are the rules if you want to do business."

That is law in China, then you must conform if you want to do business in China. That's exactly what Google, Yahoo, etc did. They did not like the local laws but they wanted to trade there so they obeyed the laws of the country they wanted to trade in.

"See how your generalization is rather, rediculous?"

No - my generalization is correct. What you are implying is that the rules of MY country should apply if I trade abroad. So if I start trading in the U.S.A. then I can ignore all the local rules I don't like or find offensive. So if I decide that, as a UK company, I don't like the Sarbanes-Oxley stuff, then I can ignore it. If I don't like paying US taxes then I can ignore that too. If I find the Patriot act burdensome and an infringement on my liberty I can just disregard it, and so on.

I'm sorry but you must obey the laws of the jurisdiction in which you trade - even if you don't like them.

If it is too offensive, then don't trade there.
