"nothing valuable to sell"

I believe that is exactly the complaint made by those who have a grievence with Microsoft. That they had valuble programs they were selling until Microsoft decided to copy their ideas and bundle them as features so they could resell the same OS two or three times.

Other than "borrowed" features what was the core difference between Windows 95, 98, 98SE & ME? They all used the same file system, the same core engine the same security, the difference was a cleaned up GUI and a few new features. Features which had previously been programs sold by other companies.

Vista will be the second release of Windows XP, which was really just a final release of Windows 2000. It will have the same file system running on same core OS, it will have a fancy new GUI (borrowed from Apple) and a few new "features" virtually all of which are available for XP right now they just aren't Microsoft programs.

Until Microsoft starts focusing on improving their core OS rather than just adding slimmed down versions of programs originally written by other companies they will continue to anger folks, some of whom will decide to go to court rather than just go quietly into oblivion.
