Ballmer Live
Wow Ballmer actually lives. Microsoft was kind enough to acutally invite me to this Dynamics thing, multiple times really with the final letter pleading for a response or I would be removed from the mailing list. That one almost got me - actually. It was a nice piece of marketing.

So what is a potential business partner with Microsoft to think. Tomorrow the EU is certain to have more bad news for the company and today, well Sunday, there was a huge advertisement requesting applicants for positions across the board at Microsoft with the exception of C sharp programmers.

C# and .Net must be dead.

My take is that the dog part of Microsoft's business is being transferred to its business partners and that the company seeks to create a database of talent that can be watched, the watching not necessarily for good, but rather kind of a political thing like Bush did with Davis through Lay.

Davis was thought to be a rising star with potential for challenging the Republican candidate for US president. Rather than let this flower grow, the weed was pulled, effectively by Bush just agreeing not to do anything that would undo Enron's conspiracy to defraud Californians on electricity pricing. Enron, Bush and the republican party benefited by denighing the US population an honest government employee. Divis' reputation was ruined, he was recalled and Arnold now is governor.

Best to fly underneath the radar.

Most of the Partners Microsoft will gain under this program are the sons and daughters of rich dudes with companies and a need to find something for the ofspring to do in one of the family businesses, that will extract wealth otherwise going to non family business parters and taxes. In otherwords non-arms lengh deals of the kind common in oil well partnerships and tax avoidance scheems. Buyer Beware.
