Can openoffice create
CGI scripted pages for webservers? I think MS's products can, and that is why their formats are proprietary. That, and because every lawyer clown out there thinks that if they patent someone else's work they can turn around and file a lawsuit for damages a few years later when noone remembers who actually wrote the code (see SCO). Also, I keep reading posts from folks that somehow think that MS "owes" everyone else's product some kind of compatibility. Let's be serious here for a second - MS Office is the standard, and not the other way around. It's like being mad at Ford because you can't use a Mercedes Fuel filter, a Chevy Oil Filter, and a Kia wiper blade in your Ford car. Not Ford's fault that everyone else makes their own parts, and heck, it's not MS's fault that everyone else decides to make competing products that save data in a different format....?! Sure makes sense to me. What's next, being mad at Nintendo 'cause their cartridges don't fit into your playstation?
