Even preinstalled, Windows XP will cost more than $50 (for Home edition...) XP Pro can be had, if you shop around and buy it with a machine for about $150 to $190 if you shop around.

Enterprise version? You must be referring to Windows 2003 Server... If so, then yes, that OS will set you back some money. But then again, the server version of Windows has always cost more because it's main task is well, being a server, not a workstation...
