Court test coming?
It will be interesting to see whether those concerned decide to take the ultimate gamble in an effort to stop the march of ODF. The stakes are high. If ODF is adopted in Massachusetts it will set the stage for adoption by other major players. But a court challenge would carry great risk. An offensive game is not as easy as a defensive one in the court system, and a loss could bring precidents that would haunt the plaintiffs and their counterparts in the industry for a very long time. They would be better off to wait and hope for a botched implementation because that is what is probably most likely at this point to stem the advance of ODF.
