MS Office + ODF Plug-In: interesting option
I would love to see an ODF plugin for MS Office, whether Microsoft developed it or someone else does. Then, MS Office would stand or fall on its user interface and features. If Microsoft believes its software really is better, it can survive the Open Document movement. There is more to their products than a file format. They ought to step up, have courage and confidence in themselves, and just support ODF - and support it better than anyone else. MS doesn't need to arm-twist to get people to buy Office, just excel (lowercase) at what they do best. It's up to them how they want to handle it; it's in everyone's best interest to take the high road.
