As soon as they made the CAN SPAM bill an opt out proposal
they should have tossed it in the trash. Making all UCE illegal
unless we OPT IN was the only thing that might help the
problem. But Congress couldn't pass up all those campaign
contributions from the direct marketers.

They need to forget about amending the law and go back to
their office and chase their interns. At least while they are doing
that they aren't screwing up something else.
