who forced you to buy a computer at compusa?

answer: no one

*you* and *you* alone made the choice to buy a computer from compusa. once you made that choice you were bound by the consequences of that choice, namely their licensing agreements.

if you did not like those agreements, you could have had your 'modest little custom built PC' made somewhere else. you were neither forced by microsoft nor compusa to purchase this license. you chose to put yourself in that situation.

stop blaming others for your bad choices.

i dont run ms software and i wouldnt buy a machine from anyone that made me buy it if i didnt want it. ive been ms-free for years and have never had a problem with this.

i *so* hate this lame argument. there are so many better ones to be made that involve real issues. '[vendor xyz] doesnt sell boxes without windows' is only an argument against [vendor xyz], not against microsoft.
