You are correct in stating that I could have gone elsewhere. I made the conscious decision to not waste more of my time and I guess since your time is not valuable to you that you can afford to waste it. Typically OEM versions are relatively low cost -- so I knew that maybe CompUSA paid $30 for XP Home. So would the time I would spend for additional shopping cost me less than that? I figured it would cost me more than $30 of my time. The fact is, if you are even remotely interested in facts, Microsoft has used their monopoly power to "induce" many PC vendors to bundle Windows in order to gain a lower price for the OS -- however, they had to bundle the MS OS with every PC sold. This was proven in the 1st trial and was part of court record. It is a bad practice. It is anti-consumer and yes, CompUSA should have offered their customers choice.
