Cheap Hardware.
Gee, I just spent over $1000 on my new Dell about two months ago... Dual core 2.8, 512 Meg Ram, 128 Meg Video.... Sounds like this expense left me 512 Meg ram short of the recommended for Vista.

Add the 1Meg for Office... Then let's not forget the minimum memory required for a machines best performance is the sum of the minimum requirements of all applications run on that machine at the same time..

How about MS's ability to memory dump... I think they forgot how...

For someone's previous post... DOS would be fine for me..

As for your company having the latest, Where I work I can still find Dell GX1's... That is a 1 Gig processor max...

So say cheap, until your company has to cut the IT budget and you cannot get the latest every couple of years... The real world is well behind on the latest...

My point, Microsoft should improve what they have, follow what is the direction of industry standards instead of adding more features when most companies only use 25% of the features already in place.

Improve performance, reduce system demands, improve memory dumps when applications are closed. Speed up what we have instead of dumping it on faster and larger resource requirements.

You may live in a disposable world, but how much longer can that continue?
