Benchmarks against OpenOffice
Office 2007 must not be benchmarking well against OpenOffice on 2007 generation personal computers. These computers take advantage of multiple CPUs on the Intel and AMD chips by extensive threading.

Java based products such as OpenOffice do this safely and do this now.

Java was envisioned for this kind of hardware which was proven 10 years ago on mainframes. It is only through monopoly power that personal computer users have been denighed the hardware that was promised back then. A decade (30 internet years) has been lost to society owing to Microsoft's use of monopoly power to protect its graphical user interface known as Windows.

MS products do not but will thread safe and utilize multiple CPUs on the 2007 gen personal computers and phone devices after they are made thread safe using a variety of tools provided by the hardware vendors to help with that process.

Even so, decision makers who can not demonstrate at least plausable benchmark comparisons should be looked upon as having been influence peddled by Microsoft. No such dicision maker should hold stock in the company. Let Microsoft compete fairly. She will win her fair share. That share is not 100 percent, not 95 percent, possibly not even over 50 percent. This is evident by the 1.0 status of Microsoft Office 2007.

Tell me if you think otherwise.
