think abotu that.. the people with the older versions can no longer read documents produced by newer versions. most users wont be thinking "i should save in rtf for best compatability with my business partners, clients, and vendors." after a while, that will become a problem and you have to go back and forth just to get the other guy to save in a format that's compatable with your version.

you have a databse that's backwards compatable, i had a database that wasn't... it wont affect everyone, but there will be people who are affected.
