Does Star Office use Java like MS Offices uses Visual Basic? Does Star Office have a program like MS Access? IF it does I may have a reason to switch from MS Office. I develop office automation applications for a small office using Visual Basic and MS Office.

I am not bashing Linux, StarOffice or Java. Can anyone tell me if these open source tools offer the power, versatility and 'integration' that VB and MS Office offers me.
