It's not the checking - It's the sleazy they they delivered it . . .
. . . under the cover of being a security fix.

Authentication checking is well within their rights.

However; I have turned off autoupdate on all our Windows desktops/laptops. Can't trust Microsoft to do "what's right". Now must check up on them - and validate all fixes before I allow them to be applied.

Someday MS will learn that if their customers don't trust them, they will look for alternatives.
