so what. They do give back to THEIR programming community. They provide free tools, free code samples, and a VERY easy programming environment. Granted, Windows was not always easy to program in but Microsoft has made great strides to correct that.

I would not expect Microsoft to provide software for Linux any more than I expect Red Hat (or any other Linux distribution) to provide software for Windows. Your notion that they should give back to ALL platforms is just rediculous. They are a business. And if you think Red Hat is giving back more than they are taking, you are just fooling yourself. They give back what BENEFITS them like any business would.
