Doesn't this bother anybody else?
"Microsoft wanted to add in some security enhancements, such as giving administrators the ability to force users to install new patches in Windows before they shut down their PCs."

Does this mean that MS could force users who say, log onto their Web site, to install patches? I suppose I'm being a bit paranoid here, but why should I have to agree to a new EULA to install a patch? Why not just say that the existing EULA covers the patch? If the EULA required a user to submit to forced patching, it would be perfectly legal. Come to think of it, didn't they add something to that effect with the recent service packs? That they could stream in changes to the OS automatically, without asking for specific consent?

"Microsoft cited a study by consulting firm Accenture that found that corporate information technology workers spend up to 70 percent of their time maintaining existing systems. With DSI, Microsoft hopes to reduce that total to 55 percent by automating various tasks involved in updating computing systems."

Does this refer to all OSes or just MS's? And does this include hardware issues? Both numbers seem to be a very high percentage for keeping a system up and running properly. We're not talking about setting up new machines or installing upgrades, new software or periperals (that isn't maintenance). So the *best* case is IT staff spending half of their time fixing things? And MS is touting that? What a company.
