Amen with one caveat
I am full in agreement with your post.

When I need a server product, I typically do not need media players intergrated into OS. I do not need email clients like Outlook Express. I do not need MS Messenger. How about a clean server product? One that provides granular control and allows us to not have to patch media players and email clients that have no business use on our servers in the first place. It would also be nice if we did not have to reboot after patching, especially when you have multiple patches requring multiple reboots. It is quite difficult to match Linux/UNIX uptimes in a MS OS environment without using HA -- for my situation it is cost prohibitive to pay costly licensing fees so we use Linux. A clean server OS may be just what a lot of potential and existing Microsoft customers would find beneficial.
