You know what's really funny...
We Mac users (of whom I am proudly one) use to laugh at Windows 1.0, 2.0...then 3.0 followed by 3.1. When Windows 95 came out...it showed some promise. However Windows ME was a bust, Windows 98 was an improvement. Now there is Windows XP.

So while we Mac Users laughed time and time again at Windows...Somehow it did make progress.

Linux is still in it's infancy. Take it from someone who knows and has seen it before. Linux has a very strong base, and can not be taken down by the likes of MicroSoft/SCO for Linux has not center that can be attacked, and plenty of strong organizations in one fashion or another supporting it...IBM for instance. Linux is here to stay, and whatever failings you might feel it has today. That will not remain so tommorow or the next day..etc, etc.
