Don't think that's the problem
"The problem this person is addressing is that since Microsoft
closed the "core web fonts" program and it is illegal to try and
change them, there is no good way for web designers to add
fonts. That is what he is advocating."

I think the problem is simply that designers have to rely on the
fact that they know these fonts are on just about every
computer, so no font substitution will take place and change the
appearance. Unless somebody could come up with a way to
guarantee those other fonts on machines, it's unlikely they
would be successful.

By the way, you never, ever want to put your company logo on
teh web in text format. As soon as someboy increses or
decreases the font rendering, your logo will be adversely
effected. I live with corporate logos at work. I've never received
one that was not in graphical format, usually eps.
