The key is knowing how to treat Windows
Windows on the desktop is going to be the standard for the foreseeable future, so as much as I would love to purchase a truck load of Macs, that isn't going to happen.

So we treat our Windows computers like 5 year old children. We don't allow them to associate with strangers (firewalls and proxy servers between them and the Internet). We keep a close watch on them (monitoring), and we don't trust them with anything really important (no mission critical apps).

So if Microsoft wants to start releasing their patches on a monthly schedule to reduce the embarrassment of weekly patches, it's not going to make a lot of difference to us. We always wait a week or two before installing them so that the eager beavers can find the bugs.
