Regarding MS and security.
I enjoyed your article and its right on target. This "attitude" that MS has towards security really ticks me off sometimes. What makes it funny is that I am a devout MS user and abuser. I ask myself sometimes why I continue to buy there products and it comes down to lazziness. Most people are familiar with it and its easy to use. There in a rut and its to difficult to change. Thats only one part though. New users of technology do not have the knowledge thats required to keep them safe. Example: My mom goes and buys a new pc. Sales guy tells her that XP is the most secure OS to date. She comes home and sets it up. She calls me all excited about her new pc. During the conversation I mention to her that she needs to install SP1 as well as any other security patches that are available. The line goes silent, "Mom you there". She says the sales guy told her its "more secure". I say well it is and isnt. You really think my mom is going to understand about RDP protocol and buffer overflow errors? We as consumers have to vote with our dollars and send a message so that MS "gets it".
