I use to work for a company called Scientific Systems, Inc. Later I worked for a company called Social & Scientific Systems. Small variations are frequently sufficient to distinguish for purposes of trade. All of which is actually moot in the case. The issuing of Windows as a trademark for MS was improper to begin with. "Windows" is a normal English word, and had a pre-defined normal usage even within the computer industry before MS improperly obtained their mark. If the mark is improper, the fault is with the company claiming the improper mark, and not the one that plays on it, and turns it into a word which IS trademarkable.
