If you really think that Linux users would not be hurt by paying SCO license fees, then you just don't understand that SCO distributed Linux under the GPL and that if they are now allowed to reject the license under which they distributed Linux, then ALL software licenses are invalid. The Owner of any software copy, because the courts have held more than once that you buy and own copies if the copy was packed in shrinkwrap, can claim that they didn't agree to the license and it is therefore NOT BINDING.
