Valid points, but...
... Microsoft still incorporated it into the OS package. Not everyone who purchases XP (or a mschine with it installed) has a computer science degree or an IT department (even if it's just a guy named Steve). And Microsoft should hold a security application to a higher standard than other programs. Not matter what the source.

I for one would have found the PC Sync functionality very useful. One less reason to rush out and buy Vista. So much for being feature complete.
