Vista beta sucks up battery juice

Wrongo.....

Just ran the Vista applet to check for compatibility and with the exception of it not recognizing the graphics as being capable, while it is integrated graphics it does meet the 9.0c spec and with the dynamic graphics memory assignment, My Quanta SW1 is Vista ready.

At this point it does last anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hrs depending on load and usage. Of course a CoreDuo build does help. By the way, 2 GHz Pentium M and Core Duo will kick tail on a 3GHZ desktop no problem in benchmarks. Bring it on!

The shared L2 cache and the ability to shut off the 2nd processor when not needed helps to extend battery life. They work so well that there is a big push for MoDT, mobile on desktop, for efficiency in processing and power savings.
