Must the physics of politics and oil...

I hope your being sarcastic, or you're talking about the state of the CURRENT chemical batteries
I can't wait one day to drive an electric sports car. Quieter, quicker.
What about the Tango:
It can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4 seconds, making it quicker than most exotic cars such the Dodge Viper, Porsche Carrera GT.
While still having a range of over 300 miles,
AND using the equivalent energy in electricity of around (and I'm figuring High) 20cents/gallon of gas (at around 30miles/gallon).
Then again there is the Venturi Fetish (wildly expensive)
Or the Mullen GT (just pretty expensive)
Both with 0-60 of around 3 seconds.
Or how about the Hybrid Prius Plug-in conversion, giving over 100mpg, or on electric 150 mile ranges, for pennies. (granted the conversion cost around $3000).

Just image what we can do if the research was put into the next generation batteries, and fuel cells.

Look what happened to the GM's EV1. A car that somehow vanished, even though the owners loved them. GM would only lease then... then wanted them back. ( Me thinks the worked too well for some people in oil, and government)...
