They SHOULD delay it
The reason why MS software has always been so crappy is because they keep rushing software out to meet short term sales goals. If they took the time to get it right, meaning getting all features to work with no bugs and making clean code (for their own future benefit) and making secure code (for everybody's benefit), then they would be much more equipped in the long term fighting against all competitors, open source and proprietary alike.

As for those who paid in advance in expectation of an earlier release, well guess what? It's your own fault. You are the idiots. What the hell are you doing paying for software that doesn't exist yet anyway? Did MS guarantee in writing that there would be a release in a specific amount of time? If not, then you should never have expected it.
