Why?
All of the sudden, Ubuntu (and derivatives) are *the* Linux distro. I'm finding it hard to believe that it can come from nowhere and suddenly be ahead of the larger, more supported distros (e.g. SuSE, RedHat, Mandriva...). It strikes me as a bit of clever tweaking of the market, rather than Ubuntu having any real advantages over the actual leading distros.
