One winning thing they could do is to get involved with Adapt Scientific: produce a native Linux version of the bibliographic database Endnote.

FileMaker does not run natively or through CrossOver; its performance through WINE is poor.

Although one could purchase Win4Lin to run both these programs, Linux companies need to become more involved with other software companies to assist in porting their programs across.

I cannot migrate until the time comes these two programs are available on Linux. In the meantime, I know how to secure my Windows box and will continue working through it.
