If you look at the ammount of important data actually stored, SQL Server is
close to the bottom. PostgreSQL, Ingres, and MySQL are gaining fast. Lots of people are realizing they can get rock-solid durability and low cost from open source alternatives.

Only an idiot would put anything important on SQL Server given the better alternatives that are lower cost and actually run on SECURE, ROCK-SOLID OSes.

Yes, there are a number of point-and-click database wannabes out there using SQL Server.

So what.
