I guess that they have a set of rules or guideliness they
can check for in a DD: when or if interrupts are disabled or holding some lock that is never released, what can be done at 1st or 2nd level interrupt handling or other things of this nature.

But I just find it hillarious that ZD writes all these "articles" that can make MS s/w development look in a better light than what past experience suggests. After 25+ years of rickety DD and kernel writing and innumerable systems crashes, NOW they started talking about tools to help them out.

MS sets the lower bound in what quality is....
