Why should they care?
Sure, there's some small chance that this is Google's foot in the proverbial door so they can eventually start supplanting all fo the Microsoft software that runs on Windows but I think that's dreamland. Google has shown no ability to do good client side code. Google Maps is kind of interesting but it's bloated, slow and lacks polish. Google is an advertising company. Sure, some people may be willing to use Google software that shows them ads when they're at home...but at work? No thanks. Does Google has the technology to allow users to "opt out" of ads by paying a subscription? Not yet. This is, at least for the short to medium term, not a big dea.
