Microsoft primes PC buyers for Premium Vista

I don't want to feel this way, but . . .

. . . I am disappointed. I regulary use Windows XP, SuSE Linux,
Mac OSX. I had looked forward to Vista as the chance for MS to
break free of the past and move forward with a truly spectacular
OS. What I find is a warmed-over OSX that requires premium
hardware to enjoy the pretty interface. What I see is MS layering
differing versions of Vista to make maximum profits from a
market that it dominates. Will IT folks seriously consider Apple
or Linux as an option? Of course not. They bet on the most
stable contender, Windows. One cannot blame them. But for the
rest of us who love computing, I grieve. MS finally had the
chance to break with the past and start fresh. And what we get is
warmed-over OSX, and not nearly as pretty. Shame!
