You completely missed the point
'...Baker says "we can't help them with the intranet"'

He was talking about intranets that have been developed using proprietary Microsoft IE features and that there is nothing that theMozilla Foundation can do with their browser to fix that.

Mozilla already supports quite a bit of IE-specific stuff, but they can't copy everything and nor should they.

Mozilla offers equivalents for pretty much everything that IE has (and many things IE doesn't), but it's a matter of users developing their intranets to accommodate other browsers and not making them IE-specific.
