As good as Firefox has become, it still has issues. Yes some can argue that IE is prone to spywear etc, but thats all incumbent on the user and that does not mean Firefox or Safari is immune as the user base for those apps grow. We all know the stories.

The fact is that MS has such a huge market gain, their apps integrate well with the plethora of software on the market etc. Also many commercial enterprise applications that are "browser based" whether using java or some mix of other technologies actually work properly in IE. Many of these either break in Firefox or Safari. Is this because these apps are built oriented toward IE. possibly, but its also a fact that IE's rendering engine is superior in its ability to render anything within reason. All the acid test requirement enforcement stuff etc has probaly caused more problems for Firefox and ironically more so for the supposedly full WC3 compliant safari which tend to break so much. Its ironic that Safari as WC3 compliant that its suppose to be breaks so much in regards to displaying pages using sophisticated DHTML, Ajax stuff and utilizing javascript.

Lastly, MS is so far ahead in "software" that the folks getting into software that really come from a big iron hardware background are finding it quite challenging. Dont hink like a hardware geek from the 70's in regards to software. It will kill you. I like Firefox, but I still like the rendering engine of Explorer better. Touting tabs means nothing especially when there are a dozen add ons that provide the same functionality.
